Sada-e-Jars
There is a saying, “One lamp lights another lamp”.
Two centuries ago, the light from the lamp first illuminated the ceiling… the flame of the lamp then brightened the surroundings. In the old age the lamp was lit from the spark… and now it is lit by a switch. What may ever the method be, eventually it is the light that makes another light…. and the big news is that light get consumed too. Like oil was consumed in the lamp, electricity is now consumed in the bulb. Our ancestors bought oil from the store, and we buy electricity… we buy it because as oil is consumed, electricity is consumed too.
The bottom line is, “One lamp lights another lamp”.
The Almighty God, with his will, his divine wisdom and his superior intention has created this universe. To keep the universe illuminated and brightened, he created the sun, the moon and the stars. To provide comfort to the travelers in their journey amidst the darks of the night, he lit up troches in the sky. To run the business of life, and to serve each other, and to comfort each other in suffering, and to prevail the benevolence and affection… he created the day… so that people remain in motion, and their senses do not get stiffened. After doing all this, in order to provide conscious to his creatures, the Almighty sent a series of prophets, and to fully complete this conscious he chose his beloved man Muhammad, the Prophet of God, peace be upon him.
From Adam to Jesus, the prophets came in a continuance. All of them repeated the same message: God is one. No one shares his kingdom. He is the one who is worshipped. He is the one who rules. He is the creator who brought the creation from nothing to being. Along with this annunciation, every prophet also revealed that God’s beloved Muhammad, peace be upon him, would come to this world.
In the books descended from heavens: the Torah, the Bible, the Weed and all other divine books, it has been proclaimed that prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, will take the human conscious and religion to the perfection. God’s promise is just, and the statements of prophets is true that Muhammad, peace be upon him, did arrive and religion was concluded on him. After Muhammad, peace be upon him, to preach the concluded religion and for rectitude and guidance, the prophet’s companions held steadfast on the righteous path (Sirat-e-Mustaqeem).
One bright chapter of the completion of religion is that all the men and women following the true religion follow the commandments of the Quran.
The Quran says:
And those who are knowledgeable and have achieved the knowledge with belief, state that their life and their death is for God. Based on their belief and observation they also say that the motion of the universe, every Aspect of the universe, every galaxy in the cosmos, the seven skies, the unseen creatures in the skies, billions of the worlds, millions of the suns and the moons, and the fact that they all are traveling in stages and don’t question each other…. all of this is from God.
The Quran states:
(God) decorated the skies with towers and concealed this decoration from devil the cursed.
The Quran also states:
God is closer than the life of the human
Here close means so close as cannot be expressed in millimeters even.
The Quran states:
God is inside you, why don’t you see him
These holy verses prove that there are two kinds of knowledge. The one is which we can see through the eyes. The other is the inner knowledge which we can see through the eyes of the soul. The Prophet of God, peace be upon him, has transferred both the open and the inner knowledge to his special students.
Prophet says about Hazrat Abbu Bakar Siddique:
Abbu Bakar has superiority over you not because of the prayer and fasting, but because of the knowledge in his chest.
Prophet says about Hazrat Umar:
Had there been a prophet after me, it would have been Umar.
Hazrat Umar’s control over the air and the Nile River proves that he was decorated with spiritual knowledge.
Propeht says about Hazrat Ali:
I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate.
This saying indicates that Hazrat Ali is the spring of spiritual knowledge.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah says:
I have been given two kinds of knowledge by the Prophet, peace be upon him. The one is which I have exposed. The other is which I have concealed.
The Quran states:
God is the one who made the seven skies and the earth. His ‘Amar’ descends amongst them, so that you realize that God has complete control on every thing.
The explanation of this verse from Surah Talaq is given by Ibn-e-Abbas as:
If I describe the truths in this verse, you will stone me to death and declare me an infidel.
In the love of the Prophet of God, peace be upon him, the ‘Companions of Suffah’ (Ashab-e-Suffah) had negated every thing of this world. In the guidance of Prophet, peace be upon him, this group would keep busy in worship and devotion and self-purification. The Prophet of God, peace be upon him, would sit with them and taught them, and would take care of their needs and told other people to look after them.
The prophet’s companions and the people who adopted the thinking of the prophet’s companions had the qualities that their hearts were filled with the love of God’s prophet, peace be upon him, and the light and splendor of God shed on them. The experts in spiritual knowledge Hazrat Ali, Imam Zen-ul-Abdeen, Imam Baqar and Imam Jaffar Sadiq have emphasized the excellence of prophet’s companions by explaining the divine inspiration and revelation, observance of the unseen, and the divine ecstasy and manifestations….. which are revealed by spiritual conscious.
When the caliphate changed into kingdom; luxury, pleasure and the lust of power became rulers’ aim of life; and caliphs made the religious scholars a ‘purchased merchandise’. The spiritual scholars sat together and classified the spiritual knowledge. According to the present times, we can say that they made a ‘syllabus’ for the spiritual knowledge.
As the caliphs took oppression and injustice to its utmost limit in Basra and Kufah, the purpose of life became nothing but to obtain worldliness justly or unjustly, and acquiring luxury and pleasure. Mere lust of worldliness (not the acquisition of basic necessities of life), luxury and pleasure, violence and brutality, arrogance and haughtiness, interference in universal system, selfishness, cunningness, shrewdness, hoarding, adulteration (which is by far no lesser than any poison)… are exactly opposite of Islam. Spiritual scholars preached people to live their lives according to the thinking of the Prophet of God, peace be upon him.
The prophet, peace be upon him, was not a poor man. It is narrated that in those times prophet, peace be upon him, had five camels, which are equivalent to five Mercedes cars in these days. If one Mercedes were assumed to cost around $135000, five Mercedes would cost $675000. The prophet, peace be upon him, owned gardens of dates. The prophet, peace be upon him, had ten wives, and all of them had separate houses. Ten houses of ten wives means that the prophet, peace be upon him, provided for expenses of ten kitchens. The prophet, peace be upon him, provided for the meals, clothing, accommodation, troubles and worries, disease and travel expenses for the ‘Companions of Suffah’. The prophet, peace be upon him, eagerly used the ‘Aud’ perfume, which is the most expensive perfume. Adopting the way of life of prophet, peace be upon him, means that you eagerly use the blessings given to you by God; benefit yourself from them and benefit others from them; and hold this belief about the blessings that they all are provided by God.
The people who learned spiritual knowledge based on the syllabus of spiritual scholars, refrained themselves from all the things that could cause hindrance in this path. Hence their mental, heart and spiritual connection with God and His prophet, peace be upon him, remained firm.
Quran states:
Those who struggle in my path, I open my passages for them.
When the doors of self-awareness and cognizance of God opened to them, they were blessed with spiritual perception and observations.
From prophet’s companions to their successors; from these successors to their followers; and after these followers, the spiritual scholars who possessed the thinking pattern of God’s prophet, peace be upon him …. did additions to the prescribed syllabus in the light of Quranic commandments to make self-awareness and divine perception of God the aim of life.
Up till year 250 hegira, prophets’ successors… the spiritual scholars…. had been promoting spiritual conscious in people through spiritual influence and intuitive speech. It is said that in that age nearly 25 percent people had had spiritual conscious and they were acquainted with the world of divine observance.
Ibrahim Audham was once sewing his mat on the bank of river Dajlah. A man asked him, “Sir! What have you got by relinquishing the kingdom of Balkh?” Ibrahim Audham threw his needle in the river and shouted, “O fish! I had only one needle!” Only God knows how far the voice reached from that bank of the river, but that man saw from his own eyes that a fish jumped from the deep water and landed in to the lap of Ibrahim Audham. He pulled the needle and thread from its mouth and threw the fish back to the river by grabbing it from the tail.
Uncountable number of such events is written in books. It has been deemed necessary to describe this event to emphasize that after achieving spiritual knowledge, according to God’s statement, the heavens, the earth, and everything within them is rendered subjugated to man.
To revive spiritual knowledge, God’s friends have been continuously coming. One part of this chain is Hazrat Qalandar Baba Auliya, who has been blessed with spiritual knowledge by God’s beloved Prophet, peace be upon him, and by God himself.
I had a hobby to raise pigeons. Once a dove started picking grains with the pigeons. It was mated with a pigeon. The two birds came out of its eggs were unique and exclusive in beauty. The wings were dark black and the rest of the body was white. They had such a charm that whoever saw them could not help praising them. Unfortunately, one day early in the morning a cat grabbed one of the pigeons and took it to the roof. When I saw this pigeon in cat’s mouth I ran after it. As I got to the roof I saw that the cat had separated the feathers and was eating the pigeon. Despite the anger I thought that the pigeon was dead anyway, so let the cat fill it stomach and I would punish it after it had finished the pigeon. As this thought came to my mind I came down, but I was so much distressed that tears started rolling off of my eyes. Qalandar Baba was sitting on a bench in a room on the first floor. I said to him in protest that the cat had killed my pigeon. Baba sahib said, “This is the way it happens.” I said in answer, “How could a cat take my pigeon in your presence! I don’t understand it!” Saying that, with the broken heart I went to kitchen and started preparing the breakfast. My Baba sahib called my name, but the anger forced me to misbehave and I did not answer. He called again, and I pretended that I did not hear. This was the time when brother Mohsin used to live with me. Baba Sahib called brother Mohsin and asked about me. He said that Khawaja sahib was very distressed on pigeon’s death and was crying in the kitchen. Baba sahib was touched by his words and said, “Call Khawaja sahib and tell him that his pigeon has come back.”
Brother Mohsin came to the courtyard and saw that the pigeon was present with the other pigeon. He told me about this. I took it as a joke and thought that he was saying this to mend my heart. But then he said seriously, “Why don’t you go outside and see for yourself” I came out to the courtyard in disbelief and saw that the pigeon was there. Seeing the pigeon I ran to the roof and looked under the bench. There were bloodstains and some feathers lying there. Seeing this I felt terribly repentant and ashamed. I came down and clasp Baba sahib’s feet and plead for forgiveness. I distributed all the pigeons before the evening.
A girl, who was deaf and dumb by birth, was brought before Baba sahib. The people, who knew Hazoor Qalandar Baba Auliya closely, know very well that had very cautious personality, and he naturally avoided miracles. I am not sure what time of the day was that; Baba sahib asked the girl, “What is your name?” Obviously the dumb girl could not answer. He said the second time, “Tell me, what is your name?” The girl kept on staring with wide-open eyes. The third time he got furious. In a state of utmost anger he raised his hand as if to hit, and said, “Tell me, what is your name?” And the girl started speaking. I think that the girl was 16 or 17 years of age at that time.
Qalandar Baba Auliya has described the secrets and mysteries of spiritual knowledge which are beyond scientific evolution.
God Almighty is forgiving and merciful. With his kindness, he created all the beings. With his kindness, he created resource for the creatures. He has kept the creatures alive. God Almighty wants to see his creatures happy.
According to requirements and conditions of the current times, in order to provide salvation to creatures from worries, difficulties and diseases, Qalandar Baba Auliya has taught spiritual and inner knowledge.
-
Qalandar Baba Auliya says that God wants human beings to be happy… because the paradise does not accept un-happy man.
-
Qalandar Baba says if a human does not learn inner knowledge; he can posses the conscious maturity, but he does not achieve God’s discernment.
-
Qalandar Baba says if a human wants he can see God, he can speak to God; because human’s soul has already seen God in the beginning, and has spoken to God saying, “Qalo Bala” (Yes you are my Lord).
-
Qalandar Baba says that sacrifice is a tremendous power in human beings. Sacrifice turns darkness into light. Sacrifice turns restlessness into serenity. Sacrifice turns worry, misery and perturbation into tranquility and peace.
Always remember! The candle first burns itself. And when it sacrifices every single moment of its life to the fire and perishes itself… On this sacrifice… the moth then devote their lives to the candle.
